Hey friends!  Recent times may have us all feeling a little less than our best. So to get us all motivated to eat cleaner and feel better, I’m offering a 28 Day Clean Eating Challenge! Beginning in 2022, I will be periodically hosting new challenge groups – head over to our Facebook group to join and see when the next challenge begins!

If you’re ready to kick start some healthy habits or need a little motivation to clean up your diet, this Intro to Clean Eating Challenge is for you! Most of us start the new year with grand goals of eating healthy, exercising regularly, and sustaining healthy habits.  Until about mid-February when it all falls apart – sound familiar?  If you’ve been recently derailed from your goals, need to reset, or simply want to feel your absolute best, you can sign up here to get started. There is no better time than NOW to commit to a healthy reset!

So often I hear that “I want to eat clean but I don’t know where to start.”  Well, I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be complicated.  By beginning with a few baby steps and committing to your goals, it can be done.  This Clean Eating Challenge will introduce you to eating only real, whole foods, cutting out the processed junk, and how to organize your meals around these goals.

Why is Clean Eating Important?

Well, to put it simply, our bodies weren’t designed to handle all the highly processed junk that’s become the standard American diet.  It’s been proven over and over that a nutrient-dense diet of whole foods can help to reduce inflammation, provide more energy, heal autoimmune conditions, and lower the risk of disease.

Here are my Top 8 Clean Eating Guidelines that helped me to transition to a clean eating lifestyle. Remember, you don’t have to do everything at once.  Even picking just one or two things from this list to implement is a great place to start!

Let’s clear up any confusion.  Clean eating can mean different things to different people.  So what’s the bottom line?  Here’s my definition – first of all, clean eating is a lifestyle choice, not a fad diet.  It means choosing real, whole ingredients, avoiding processed foods, cooking more often than not at home, regularly reading labels, and eating mindfully.  It doesn’t mean giving up everything you love or never again indulging in pizza, wine, and chocolate.  No food is ever totally off limits – I don’t believe in that and let’s face it, it doesn’t work long term. It’s about finding balance and making healthy choices most of the time so that you can enjoy your favorite treats a little bit of the time.  And most importantly, it means investing in yourself and your long term health!  You can read more about my own journey to a clean eating lifestyle here.
