Air Fryer Sausage and Potatoes – a one pot flavorful meal of sausage and potatoes that is super simple to make. This easy dinner recipe is hearty, family friendly, and perfect for busy weeknights.
This easy dinner recipe is a variation on my family’s favorite sheet pan dinner. It’s been my go-to for years when I need a quick meal that is always a hit and super easy to throw together at the last minute. In fact, I always keep some chicken sausage on hand for just this reason! I knew it would be a great recipe to adapt for the Air Fryer and love the extra crispy results in even less time than the oven.

Ingredients
- Chicken sausage – cut into large chunks
- Yukon gold potatoes – diced or halved yellow baby potatoes
- Green bell peppers – cut into large chunks
- Avocado Oil (or olive oil)
- Homemade Cajun Seasoning (or seasoning of your choice)
Variations
- Use another fully cooked sausage like turkey kielbasa, kielbasa sausages, or smoked sausage of your choice in place of the chicken sausage.
- Adding diced yellow or red onions to the potatoes is a great addition.
- Be creative with the vegetables – substitute fresh green beans for the green bell peppers, or add red bell peppers, zucchini, or cauliflower.
- Substitute your favorite seasoning blend for the Cajun seasoning, such as my Homemade Seasoned Salt, Italian seasoning, or a simple blend of salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Serve with a dipping sauce if desired! Ketchup, honey mustard, and barbecue sauce are great options.
Instructions
- Spray the inside of the basket with nonstick spray (I like avocado oil spray).
- Add the potatoes, oil, and seasoning to a large bowl. Toss to combine and place potatoes in the air fryer basket.
- Cook the potatoes for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, shaking the basket once halfway through cooking time.
- Add the sausage and bell peppers to the basket and toss everything together.
- Cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, or until sausage and veggies are beginning to brown, pausing to shake the basket during cook time.
Common Questions
Can I use sweet potatoes in this recipe?
Yes, absolutely! Sweet potatoes may require a few extra minutes of cook time so it is important to check them for doneness.
Do I have to use fully cooked sausage in this recipe?
Yes, to keep this recipe simple and fast, fully cooked is best as raw sausage is a little trickier and will take much longer to cook in the Air Fryer.
