Perfect Air Fryer Roasted Sweet Potatoes
These cubed sweet potatoes in the air fryer are super healthy, a cinch to make, and the perfect side to any protein. I love the simplicity of this tasty side dish and how quickly they cook in the Air Fryer versus making them in the oven. They are perfectly seasoned, crispy with a soft center, and can be changed up with different spices to your taste.
Pair these roasted sweet potatoes with Smoky Chicken Thighs for dinner, add them to a Breakfast Hash, or build Sloppy Joe Bowls with my Healthy Turkey Sloppy Joe meat for make ahead lunches.
Ingredients
Sweet Potatoes
Avocado Oil
Homemade Seasoned Salt (you’ll need sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika)
Substitutions & Variations
Any of my Homemade Seasoning Blends can be substituted for the Seasoned Salt to create a different flavor profile. I especially love the Cajun Blend or Blackened Seasoning for adding some heat as a contrast to the sweetness of the potatoes.
Olive Oil can be substituted for the Avocado Oil.
For a sweet version, skip the Seasoned Salt and add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a bit of maple syrup.
Why Are Sweet Potatoes Good For You?
Sweet Potatoes have many nutritional benefits. They are rich in fiber (one large sweet potato contains 6 grams of fiber), which aids in digestion and helps you feel full longer. They are made up of complex carbs which don’t create blood sugar spikes to the same degree as simple carbs. Sweet Potatoes are also high in Potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and Beta Carotene.
How to Make Air Fryer Sweet Potato Cubes
Begin by peeling the sweet potatoes (this step is optional.)
Cut the sweet potatoes into 1/2 inch evenly sized cubes.
Combine the cubed sweet potatoes, avocado oil, and seasoning in a bowl and toss to coat.
Add the sweet potatoes to the basket of your Air Fryer.
Cook for 15 minutes at 400 degrees, tossing halfway through cooking time.
Serve the potatoes immediately, as they will begin to soften and lose their crispy exterior over time.
