Fresh Salsa & Homemade Guacamole (Whole30 Paleo Keto) – awesome flavors and all fresh, healthy ingredients. So easy to prepare, perfect for your next party!  Whole30, Paleo, and Keto friendly.

Need a quick and easy snack for the big game this weekend?  You won’t believe how easy it is to make your own salsa and guacamole with just a handful of ingredients.  Of course, this is best with fresh seasonal ingredients but it’s February in Michigan and we can’t go around depriving ourselves of these summer classics!

Fresh salsa can’t be beat.  I’ll take it over jarred salsa any day!  Luckily, it can be made quickly and easily with zero fuss.  I use a food processor for the salsa – as in, I throw everything in and hit the button and it’s done.  That’s it!

The same goes for homemade guacamole.  I have tried store bought guac and it just doesn’t compare to freshly homemade.  First let me just say that I LOVE avocados.  It’s a very good thing avocados are a “healthy” fat!  Guacamole is such a versatile condiment and can certainly be enjoyed as a dip but it also great countless other ways!  This guacamole recipe is always a hit but I have to confess…there is nothing really special about this recipe, no secret ingredients or twists, just that it is made with love. 🙂

How to Make Fresh Salsa

To make the salsa, rough chop all of the ingredients.  Add to the food processor and pulse several times until you reach desired texture.

I like a more pureed texture to my salsa, but you can absolutely leave it chunkier if you prefer.  The result is so perfectly fresh and tasty you won’t ever want to buy salsa in a jar again.

Season with additional salt and pepper if desired.

How to Make Homemade Guacamole

Be sure to choose avocados that are ripe.  To ripen avocados quickly, set them on the counter near other fruit, like bananas.  Within a day they will soften.  Once they have reached ideal ripeness, store them in the refrigerator to prevent over ripening.

To make the guacamole, mash the avocadoes and add the lime juice, salt, and cumin.  Stir well to combine and then fold in the tomatoes and red onions.

For a spicier guacamole, feel free to add some crushed red pepper or finely diced jalapenos.
