Steak Kabob Marinade

My tried and true marinade for steak kabobs is so simple and includes just 3 ingredients! To make these Grilled Steak Kabobs, you’ll need avocado oil, coconut aminos, and my homemade garlic salt blend. I’ve found this combo is perfect for bringing flavor and tenderness to the beef without overpowering the natural beef flavor. My husband and kids are meat purists and big lovers of steak without extra added flavor and totally approve of this recipe. It’s also super versatile and can be used on chicken, pork, or shrimp!

Best Steak for Kabobs

My favorite economical choice for making steak kabobs is top sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes. Filet mignon is also a great option for steak kabobs. I love ButcherBox for all my meat, especially steak. They have several cuts and options to choose from, including pre-cubed kabob meat, New York strips, filets, and ribeyes (a favorite of my meat loving husband!)

How Long to Grill Steak Kabobs

Steak Kabobs should be grilled for approximately 7-10 minutes, depending on the desired doneness. For a medium rare steak, grill the kabobs for 7-8 minutes, turning throughout cooking. For a medium steak, add 2-3 minutes of cook time for a total of 9-10 minutes, turning throughout.

Grilled Steak Kabobs with Veggies - only three ingredients are needed for the BEST grilled steak kabobs! Quick, simple, and super easy to throw together at the last minute! Whole30, Paleo, Keto friendly.

Ingredients 

  • 1/4 cup avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoons homemade garlic salt seasoning blend, see recipe below
  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cubed, or beef kabob meat
  • 1 large yellow onion, cut into chunks
  • 2 bell peppers, cut into chunks

Instructions

  • Thread beef cubes, onion, and bell peppers onto skewers. Lay Skewers onto a large baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, combine the oil, coconut aminos, and garlic salt blend. Whisk well and pour over the skewers. Let marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  • Preheat a grill to medium high heat. Place skewers on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning throughout.

Notes

Homemade Garlic Salt Seasoning Blend:
3.5 tablespoons kosher salt
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 tablespoon coarse black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried garlic flakes
Combine and store in an air tight container. Use on roasted potatoes, veggies, meat marinades, or any time you need a flavor boost!
