Ingredients

  • 6 cups chopped apples (peels on) I used Gala apples
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar I like Madhava brand
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  • Place apples in a slow cooker.  Combine sugar and spices in a small bowl, then pour over apples.  Stir to combine.  Cover and cook on High for 2-3 hours, until apples are golden brown and soft.
  • Using an immersion blender, blend apples until smooth.  Cover and cook on High for an additional 2 hours until apple butter has thickened.
