Air Fryer Chicken Kabobs (No Skewers!) – a combo of perfectly seasoned chicken and veggies are cooked in the Air Fryer in this version of skewer-less chicken kabobs.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE grilled kabobs. But I don’t always have the time (or patience) to skewer meat and veggies and stand over the grill. The next best thing is these Air Fryer Kabobs! Made with tender chunks of chicken breasts and loads of fresh veggies, this healthy meal is simple to make and family friendly.
I often use my Air Fryer as a shortcut method to the oven or grill. It’s perfect for achieving a crispy char/tender center combo (aka this Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken.) If you’re short on time but want to enjoy a delicious dinner of “grilled” chicken and veggies, skip the wooden skewers and try this Air Fryer Chicken Kabobs recipe!
Why We Love Air Fryer Kabobs
- Simple ingredients that are nutritious and family friendly.
- A quick and easy way to enjoy kabobs – no fussing with metal skewers, soaking bamboo skewers, or heating an outdoor grill!
- Easy prep and hands-off cook time, making it perfect for a busy weeknight dinner.
- Makes great leftovers or meal prep.
- High in protein, vitamins and minerals, and healthy fats.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Red Bell Peppers
- Mushrooms
- Zucchini
- Onion
- Olive Oil
- Seasonings – Sea Salt, Black Pepper, garlic powder
Variations
Meat – for a variation on beef kabobs, use 1-inch pieces of sirloin steak in place of the chicken.
Vegetables – mix it up with your favorite combo of veggies, such as any color of bell pepper, red onions, or cherry tomatoes.
Seasonings – try one of my homemade seasoning blends for a different flavor profile. Greek blend and Homemade Seasoned Salt are also great options. Or skip the seasonings and use a simple marinade to marinate the chicken and veggies before cooking.
How to Make Air Fryer Kabobs
- Cut the chicken into 1-inch cubes.
- Cut the veggies into large chunks, similar in size to the chicken pieces.
- Add the chicken, veggies, oil, and seasonings to a large mixing bowl. Toss to combine.
- Add the chicken and veggies to the Air Fryer basket. Cook for 16-18 minutes at 370 degrees, tossing every 5 minutes.
Serving Suggestions
Make Chicken Kabob and Grain bowls by serving the chicken and veggies over rice, cauliflower rice, couscous, quinoa, farro, etc.
Serve with a side of pita bread and a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
Try using this simple recipe for meal prep – portion the chicken and veggies into containers for easy make ahead lunches.
FAQs
What Air Fryer is best?
I love my Go Wise 5 quart Air Fryer so much! Each brand and model has its pros and cons (similar to ovens) and may cook differently.
How to store leftovers?
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the Air Fryer for 1-2 minutes or in the microwave at 30 second intervals until warmed.
Can I use chicken thighs instead?
I prefer chicken breasts for best results in this recipe as chicken thighs are typically thinner and will cook differently.
How do you know when the chicken cooked?
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the pieces of chicken. Chicken is done when it reaches an internal temp of 165 degrees.
