- Ground Turkey
- White Rice (uncooked)
- Bell Pepper
- Onion
- Black Beans
- Diced Tomatoes
- Chicken Broth
- Seasonings – Seasoned Salt and Chili Powder

How to Make Turkey and Rice Skillet
- Begin by heating avocado oil in a large skillet. Cook the ground turkey until browned. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook for 2 minutes more.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer, then cover the skillet and reduce the heat to medium low.
- Simmer, covered, for 15-20 minutes, until rice is completely cooked.
- Stir, then top with grated cheese and cilantro (if desired.)

Cheesy Ground Turkey & Rice Skillet
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil, or extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 1/2 large green bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 large red bell pepper, diced
- 15 oz low sodium black beans
- 15 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup jasmine rice, or plain white rice
- 2-3 tablespoons grated raw cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Seasoned Salt , see recipe below
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
Instructions
- Heat oil over medium high heat in a large deep skillet. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, adding in the onion and bell pepper in the last couple of minutes of cook time.
- Add beans, tomatoes, seasoned salt, chili powder, rice, and broth to the skillet. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the skillet.
- Simmer for 15-20 minutes, until rice is cooked. Remove cover and sprinkle cheese over the top.
- If desired, add chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
