Gluten Free Back to School Snack Ideas – these homemade gluten free treats include lots of healthy swaps and are totally kid friendly! Perfect as lunchbox treats or after school snacks!
With back to school time quickly approaching, I am in total meal planning mode. Time to get back on a schedule and back on track with meal prep. And one thing I always try to add to my weekly meal prep list is a healthy-ish snack or treat for the kids.
Whether as a lunchbox treat or a quick after school snack, these gluten free goodies are 100% kid friendly and easy to make. Homemade treats don’t have to be complicated or take a lot of time. Most of the recipes on this list include very simple ingredients and can be made in under 30 minutes.
Don’t feel like you have the time or energy to be whipping up special treats? I feel ya. My solution is to get the kids involved whenever possible. My girls have been baking with me from an early age, so they are now pretty comfortable in the kitchen. The rule is, if they want an extra treat, they have to be willing to make it themselves!
While we are not a totally gluten free family, I tend to lean towards a gluten free diet naturally. I believe in eating a diet that is mostly free of processed foods and my recipes reflect that. So you typically won’t see refined sugars or refined flours (which is where gluten hides) in my baked goods.

Grapes and watermelon chunks – these rarely last a day or two in our house, so I have to replenish often, but not a bad problem to have!
